OUR STORY
Grand Cols Cycling Tours is a Dutch travel organisation run by Rinie Sminia and Joop Forster. Our collaboration arose from our shared passion for cycling in the high mountains. We think there is nothing more beautiful than climbing the most famous and beautiful cols in the cycling world – the Grand Cols – together with your cycling friends.
We met in 2022 during a Coast 2 Coast Pyrenees cycling tour; Joop as participant, Rinie as a crew member. In this tour we rode from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, in six stages across the French Pyrenees. We experienced what it is like to push your limits during a challenging stage tour in a beautiful environment with a group of nice people; an unforgettable adventure that left us wanting more!
The following year we organized Across the Alps South together. We enjoyed this tour so much that we decided to bundle our knowledge and experience in Grand Cols Cycling Tours. It became our goal to share our passion for cycling in the high mountains with others.
OUR MISSION
Grand Cols Cycling Tours organises cycling tours for fanatic cyclists who are looking for a challenging cycling adventure in the mountains. Your adventure is our mission! We know the most beautiful Grand Cols and routes in the European high mountains where the pros cycle their races. We have prepared beautiful tours but we are just as happy to organize your custom group cycling tour. Our added value is best appreciated in a stage tour – across the high mountains from hotel to hotel – in which you can experience the Grand Cols to the fullest. You cycle, eat, sleep and enjoy, we will unburden you completely with our full service approach!
