GROUP CYCLING TOUR IN THE VOSGES WITH START AND FINISH IN SAINTE-MARIE-AUX-MINES

Salut! Can’t wait to hit the mountains in the spring and do you want to conquer the legendary Vosges cols and ballons made famous by the Tour de France? Then join our group cycling tour in the Vosges and experience an unforgettable stage tour for road cyclists, starting and finishing in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, in Alsace! When the high mountain passes in the Alps, Dolomites and Pyrenees are still closed, the French mid-mountain range of the Vosges is the perfect alternative. You’ll cycle through forests and vineyards, past picturesque villages, and climb iconic passes such as Col du Grand Ballon, Le Petit Ballon, La Super Planche des Belles Filles, Col du Platzerwasel and Col du Ballon d’Alsace.

Over five stages, including a short warm-up stage, you can almost daily choose between a black route for a serious challenge, or a red route for a slightly lighter variant. The black routes add up to 450 kilometre and 9,500 metres of altitude gain, while the red routes cover 380 kilometre and 7,450 metres of altitude gain. This makes a Travers les Vosges both the ideal preparation for tougher cycling adventures later and a beautiful, accessible stage tour in its own right.

STAGE 1 & 2: GRAND COLS AND CHARMING VOSGES-VILLAGES

We welcome you to the former mining village of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines for the first stage of a Travers les Vosges. We start gently with a short warm-up loop through Alsace-Lorraine, including three smaller cols. It’s the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and ready for the rest of the tour. Stage two takes us through picturesque vineyards and some of the most beautiful villages in Europe, such as Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr. It’s well worth hopping your bike for a moment to soak up the atmosphere! Then the riding gets more serious with the climb of the Collet du Linge, once a WWI frontline where old trenches can still be seen. After descending towards Munster, we tackle the Col du Petit Ballon. We descend on the other side and finish back in Munster, a village not famous for a peace treaty, but for its rather pungent cheese.

‘In a Travers les Vosges you’ll enjoy the beauty of the Vosges and experience a full stage tour through the mountains in spring’.

STAGE 3 & 4: GREAT VOSGES-LAKES AND PLAN OF THE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS

In stage three, we start with the challenging Col du Platzerwasel. After reaching the summit, we ride across a plateau to Le Markstein, where we descend. The next climb is the winding road of Col du Bramont. In this stage, we pass three large Vosges lakes: Lac de Kruth, Lac de Longemer and Lac de Gérardmer. After Gérardmer, we ride through La Bresse, known for the Granfondo Vosges, and finish in Le Thillot. Stage four takes us through Ronchamp, famous for the Gran Fondo Les Trois Ballons. We tackle some of the most iconic Vosges climbs in recent Tour history, including La (Super) Planche des Belles Filles. This short, steep climb ends with a tough gravel section. Its name is beautiful but recalls a grim history. We close this stage with the Ballon d’Alsace, which in 1905 became the first-ever climb in the Tour de France. René Pottier reaching the summit first.

STAGE 5: COL DU GRAND BALLON AND ROUTE DES CRÊTES

From Moosch, we start stage five with the climb to the summit of our tour: Col du Grand Ballon (1,341 metres)! This famous Tour de France climb is also the highest point in the Vosges. The Grand Ballon can be climbed from many directions, but of course we take the iconic side with cobbled hairpins, starting in Willer-sur-Thur. From the top of the Grand Ballon, we follow the Route des Crêtes along the high Vosges ridge. This beautiful route was originally built by the French during WWI to supply their troops. This means we cycle for kilometres across a stunning plateau, picking up several cols along the way without excessive climbing. Among others, we pass Col de la Schlucht and Col du Bonhomme. We follow the Route des Crêtes until it ends at our finish in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. Arrivée!

GRAVEL GROUP CYCLING TOUR WITH START AND FINISH IN GIRONA

¡Hola! Join our phenomenal gravel group cycling tour from Girona, the Spanish cycling city par excellence! In Gravel Track Girona we discover the most beautiful gravel paths, singletracks, and mountain roads of Catalonia. This region is known for the Traka 560, an extreme gravel event that is rapidly gaining popularity. The routes in our gravel group cycling tour are inspired by those of the Traka. We start and finish in the beautiful, historic city of Girona, easily accessible by train and plane. This lively Catalan city is now globally popular among both pros and amateurs. In the first part of the stage ride, we climb stunning cols such as Coll de Santigosa and Coll de Jou, exploring the heights of the Catalan Pyrenees near the French border. We then head towards the rugged Costa Brava coastline, following it southward. In the final part of the ride, we cycle back inland to Girona.

In Gravel Track Girona, you can choose either black or easier red routes on each stage. Choosing the black routes on all stages totals 580 kilometres with nearly 10,000 metres of altitude gain. The red routes cover 470 kilometres and approximately 7,000 metres of altitude gain. This tour offers the perfect mix of athletic challenge, adventure and group experience. You ride, eat, sleep, and enjoy, we take care of the rest! Claim your spot and experience this Spanish gravel adventure with other passionate gravel cyclists!

STAGE 1: GIRONA AND THE CATALAANSE PYRENEES

Girona welcomes us with medieval charm and a vibrant cycling culture. It is the perfect base for our Spanish gravel cycling adventure. Consider arriving a day early to soak up the atmosphere in the narrow streets and colourful squares of this cycling city. From here, we start our first stage heading west, following the Riu Ter river as it later bends northwards. You’ll mostly ride on smooth gravel paths through a Wooded area along a gradually ascending route. Halfway the stage, we approach the Catalan Pyrenees where the real climbing begins. We tackle the challenging Coll de Santigosa and Coll de Jou back-to-back. These are iconic climbs for gravel riders, made famous by The Traka. After descending Coll de Jou, we finish in the area around Ribes de Freser.

‘In Gravel Track Girona, you’re constantly treated to ever-changing landscapes: dense forests, charming villages, the rugged coast and high cols.’

STAGE 2 & 3: MORE CATALAN PYRENEES AND ALTA GARROTXA

In stage two, we discover more of the untouched beauty of the Catalan Pyrenees: rugged mountains, stunning nature and idyllic villages. From the start, we climb to over 2,000 metres! We ride through a magnificent high-mountain landscape near the French border, enjoying breathtaking views. After three challenging climbs, we finish in Castellfollit de la Roca, spectacularly perched on a 50-metre-high basalt cliff. Stage three begins with a climb through the Alta Garrotxa natural area, shaped by volcanic activity. This rugged region is full of dense forests, deep valleys, and cliffs. We climb to nearly 1,000 metres before descending for kilometres. Along the way, we pass the Darnius-Boadella Reservoir, a massive dammed lake. In the second part of the stage, we ride through farmland heading east, finishing in the rural village of Garriguella.

STAGE 4 & 5: COSTA BRAVA, CAP DE CREUS, LES GAVARRES AND AGAIN GIRONA

In stage four, we ride eastwards from Garriguella towards the Costa Brava, the rugged Catalan coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. In the village of Llançà, we reach the coast, which we then follow south. We ride across Cap de Creus, a stunning peninsula with steep cliffs and striking rock formations. This is the easternmost point of Spain. From there, we wind our way to Roses and continue along the coast by the Gulf of Roses towards Torroella de Montgrí, where we finish. Stage five is the final stage of Gravel Track Girona. Once again, we briefly follow the Riu Ter river towards the coast before turning west into the inland. We pass through the mountainous natural area of Les Gavarres, riding between cork oaks and pine trees. After a few last climbs, we enter the countryside around Girona. Following the Riu Ter, we ride back into the city.

STAGE 1 & 2: THE LEGENDARY COL DE LA LOZE AND THE BEAUTIFUL COL DE L’ARPETTAZ

We start our cycling tour through the French and Italian Alps in Moûtiers. In the first stage, with start and finish in this charming mountain town, we climb the legendary Col de la Loze. The Loze was paved in 2019 and included in the Tour de France route for the first time in 2020. It quickly became an icon of the cycling world, with the most legendary moment being Pogačar’s rare collapse during Stage 17 of the Tour in 2023. The opening stage is optional; if you prefer a six-stage tour, you can start with Stage Two. In stage two we ride from Moûtiers to Beaufort. Along the way, we tackle the breathtaking Col de l’Arpettaz, a highlight for true cycling enthusiasts, and the famous Col des Saisies, which has featured in the Tour de France 15 times. We finish in the lively mountain village of Beaufort.

‘Climb some of the most iconic Grand Cols of the French and Italian Alps, including the Colle delle Finestre, Col de la Loze, and Col de l’Iseran.’

STAGE 3, 4 & 5: TIGNES, COL DE l’ISERAN EN COLLE DELLE FINESTRE

In the third stage, we ride from Beaufort to Tignes, the well-known ski and cycling village at 2,105 metres. Along the way, we climb the phenomenal Cormet de Roselend, another famous Tour de France col. In stage four, we ride from Tignes to the Col de l’Iseran, the highest col in France at 2,770 metres, before descending to Lanslebourg. From there, we tackle the climb to the fantastic Col du Mont-Cenis. On the descent, we cross the Italian border and finish in Susa. Stage five begins in Susa, immediately challenging us with the highlight of our cycling tour: Colle delle Finestre! In the 2018 Giro d’Italia, Froome left eveybody behind on this monster climb, including its unpaved finale, and took the pink jersey from Yates. He won the Giro ahead of Dumoulin. In 2025, Yates took revenge on the Finestre, seizing the pink jersey from Del Toro and winning the Giro. Finally, we ride via Sestriere to Bardonecchia, a well-known cycling village in the Susa Valley.

across the alps south

STAGE 6 & 7: COL DU GALIBIER AND COL DE LA MADELEINE

We start the sixth stage in Bardonecchia, Italy. On the climb of Col de l’Échelle, we cross the French border and then descend to Briançon. From here, we climb  to Col du Galibier via Col du Lautaret. Col du Galibier is one of the most iconic Grand Cols of the French Alps The col has been part of the Tour de France almost 60 times and the Giro d’Italia once. In 2025, Col du Lautaret even appeared in the route of La Vuelta a España! After the phenomenal descent from the Galibier and Col du Télégraphe, we finish near Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. The seventh and final stage starts with the famous spaghetti bends of Les Lacets de Montvernier. We continue climbing to Col du Chaussey and conclude our adventure with the spectacular Col de la Madeleine. After the descent, we finish back in Moûtiers.

GROUP CYCLING TOUR COAST TO COAST PYRENEES FROM BIARRITZ TO ARGELÈS-SUR-MER

Bonjour! On the group cycling tour Coast to Coast Pyrenees, we ride from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, straight through the rugged French Pyrenees! This iconic stage tour is a must-do adventure for every passionate mountain cyclist. We start in the vibrant town of Biarritz and finish in Argelès-sur-Mer, a lively coastal spot near Perpignan. In the C2CP you’ll ride seven stages (including a short warm-up ride), experience all the beauty the Pyrenees have to offer, and draw a bold line from coast to coast on your Strava heatmap!

In most stages you can choose between a tougher black route and a slightly easier red route. The black routes cover over 800 kilometres with nearly 18,500 metres of altitude gain. By opting for the red routes, you’ll ride about 730 kilometres and conquer 14,000 metres of altitude gain. Along the way, we cross the challenging French Basque Country, ride through the Gorge de la Pierre Lys, and of course tackle many famous climbs from the Tour de France, including: Marie-Blanque, Aubisque, Spandelles, Tourmalet, Hourquette d’Ancizan, Peyresourde, Menté and Port de Pailhères.

Travel to Biarritz and back from Argelès-sur-Mer is on your own arrangement. Biarritz is easily accessible by train or plane, and from Perpignan (near the finish) you can travel back conveniently. To make your journey easier, we can also arrange bike transport from and back to a location in the Netherlands.

Our General Terms and Conditions apply to this cycling tour. The listed prices include VAT.

STAGE 1 & 2: PAYS BASQUE – BASQUE COUNTRY

Salut mes amis! We start our adventure in the beautiful French coastal city of Biarritz, located on the Bay of Biscay in the French Basque Country (Basque: Iparralde, or North Side). Biarritz was a popular seaside resort for European nobility from the 19th century. This is reflected in the beautiful buildings in the city. The Municipal Casino in Art Deco style, dating from 1929, is well-known. Consider coming a day earlier to enjoy the city beach and the nice bars and restaurants in the attractive historic center. We start in the afternoon with a short stage through the Biarritz area to kick off your legs. In stage 2 we cycle through the cycling-mad Basque Country. Although we do not encounter any high cols, this stage is not flat anywhere. Divide your energy well because we will encounter a number of very steep walls!

‘In the Coast to Coast Pyrenees you draw a big line from coast to coast on your Strava heathmap!’

STAGE 3 & 4: GRAND COLS OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE

From stage 2 we enter the Pyrenees. The first known climb is the Col de Marie-Blanque (1,037 metres). From Escot we climb on an increasingly steep road through a dense forest. After the descent we ride to Laruns where Col d’Aubisque (1,709 metres) starts. On the climb, we pass the beautiful 19th-century spa town of Eaux-Bonnes. The often misty summit with the large metal bicycles is inhabited by sheep. In stage 3 we reach the roof of C2CP; Col du Tourmalet (2,115 metres). This tough but steady climb is the most climbed col in the Tour de France. After the descent follows perhaps the most beautiful part of the entire route; the climb to Hourquette d’Ancizan (1,567 metres), through a rural landscape with lots of stray cattle. We conclude this stage with another famous climb; Col de Peyresourde (1,568 metres).

STAGE 5, 6 & 7: PYRENEES, THE GREEN MOUNTAINS

In stages 4 and 5, the cols continue to follow each other in rapid succession. We ride through a fantastic green landscape, with thousands of trees, and pass sleepy villages. Along the way, we climb Col de Menté (1,344 metres), Portet d’Aspet (1,069 metres), with the monument for the unfortunate Fabio Casatelli, Col de la Core (1,394 metres), Col de Port (1,257 metres) and the majestic Port de Pailhères (1,998 metres), from the authentic spa town of Ax-les-Thermes. After the fantastic descent of this col, we head for Quillan, where the final stage starts. From there, we cycle through the beautiful Gorge de la Pierre Lys. After a final serious col and a few relatively easy kilometres, we dive into the Mediterranean Sea in Argelès-Sur-Mer!

STAGE 1 & 2: BRIXEN AND SELLA RONDA

We start Stage one in or near Brixen (Italian: Bressanone) in the beautiful Eisacktal. This charming town, known for its 12th-century cathedral, sits at the confluence of the Eisack and Riens rivers. From Brixen, we climb to Lüsen, where the first Grand Col of the stage begins: the Passo delle Erbe (Würzjoch). This HC-climb mainly follows a narrow road through a fresh forest. After the descent, we pass La Villa, the starting point of the famous Maratona dles Dolomites, and reach Corvara, located in the iconic Sella Ronda. From here we climb the Passo di Campolongo, after which we descend back to Corvara. Stage two focuses on the other Sella Ronda cols: Passo di Gardena, Passo di Pordoi, and Passo di Sella. We finish with the climb to Passo di Falzarego and a descent to the luxurious winter sports and cycling town of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

‘Perfectly maintained roads run through the beautiful, rugged landscape of the Dolomites.’

STAGE 3 & 4: BEAUTIFUL, STEEP CLIMBS

Stage three starts in Cortina d’Ampezzo and takes us northeast over the Tre Croci. We then quickly gain altitude on the short but ultra-steep climb to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, finishing at the beautifully situated Rifugio Auronzo. The views along the way and from the summit are breathtaking! Legendary Giro champions such as Gimondi, Merckx, and Nibali claimed historic victories here. Then we tackle the impressive Passo di Giau, with a steep finale through stunning alpine scenery and views of the majestic Monte Cristallo rock formation. The summit lies just below the distinctive peak of Monte Nuvolau. We conclude this stage in Caprile, the start of Stage four. In this stage the challenging Passo di San Pellegrino awaits after a short approach. Via Passo di Valles, we cycle westwards, mainly downhill, towards Auer (Italian: Ora).

STAGE 5 & 6: DIE WEINSTRASSE EN MAGNIFICENT MERANO

In Stage five, we ride westwards. The rugged Dolomites lie behind us, but don’t worry: a few more stunning Grand Cols still await! We cycle through the wine region of Südtirol, via the winding Mendelpass (Italian: Passo di Mendola) and Gampenpass, to the romantic mountain town of Merano, once the holiday retreat of Empress Sissi. In the evening, enjoy the charming old town and the promenades along the mountain river Passer. The final stage heads north along the river on a smoothly flowing gravel path. At Sankt Leonhard in Passeier, we turn towards the Jaufenpass (Italian: Passo di Monte Giovo). After the descent towards Sterzing, the Passo di Pennes awaits for the hardcore riders. Over gentle roads, we return to the Brixen area, where we celebrate the conclusion of the Giro delle Dolomiti. Arrivo!

GROUP CYCLING TOUR IN TUSCANY WITH START AND FINISH IN CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI

Ciao ragazzi! Are you looking for a gravel cycling tour in Tuscany where you can ride the white gravel roads of the Strade Bianche and L’Eroica while enjoying Italy’s rich (cycling) culture? Then Gravel Bianche Toscana is made for you! This stage tour, starting and finishing in Castellina in Chianti, takes you straight into Europe’s gravel Nirvana: Tuscany! Over five stages we ride through the Chianti region and over the roads of what might be the most beautiful race on the cycling calendar: de Strade Bianche. Even the Giro d’Italia has (re)discovered Tuscany’s iconic strade bianche (white gravel roads).

You’ll travel independently to Castellina in Chianti, a charming village in the famous wine region, where our cycling adventure begins. Climbers will also get their fix on this gravel cycling tour in Tuscany: we tackle countless pogi (hills), including the iconic Monte Santa Marie, Passo del Lume Spento, Monte San Michele, San Martino in Grania and Le Tolfe. We conquer nearly 2,000 metres of elevation gain per day on average! Along the way we pass stunning towns and villages such as Siena, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, San Quirico d’Orcia, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti, where we also take time to enjoy the local culture and Italian cuisine.

Each stage offers you a choice between a challenging black route or an easier red route, making this tour suitable for cyclists of different levels. Choosing the black routes on every stage totals 470 kilometres with 9,275 metres of altitude gain, while the red routes cover 360 kilometres with 7,000 metres of altitude gain. We recommend riding a gravel bike for this tour to get the best experience.

STAGE 1 & 2: CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI, CHIANTI REGION AND SIENA

Grande Partenza! We kick off our Tuscan gravel adventure in the charming town of Castellina in Chianti, located in the heart of the famous Chianti region between Florence and Siena. This area is world famous for its Chianti Classico wines, rolling hills and picturesque landscapes. On the first stage, you’ll ride along quiet roads weaving through vineyards, cypress trees and olive groves. Along the way, we pass iconic Tuscan villages such as San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, finishing the stage in the stunning city of Siena. The second stage takes us south through, following the routes of the iconic Strade Bianche and L’Eroica. This is a true paradise for lovers of classic cycling romance. In the final part, we leave the Strade Bianche course and continue along the Eroica route. After climbing the Passo del Lume Spento, we reach the beautiful town of Montalcino.

‘Explore the Strade Bianche where Van Vleuten, Kopecky, Cancellara, Van Aert, Van der Poel, Pidcock, and Pogačar made cycling history.’

STAGE 3 & 4: RIDE THE ROUTES OF THE EROICA AND STRADE BIANCHE

Stage three mostly follows the iconic gravel roads of the famous L’Eroica, a ride full of cycling nostalgia. This route continues further south than the Strade Bianche, through a tranquil, unspoilt part of Tuscany. All day we wind along rolling white roads, between cypress trees and old farmhouses, with a new climb or descent around every corner. Along the way, we pass the picturesque village of San Quirico d’Orcia, finishing in Buonconvento. In 2025, Tadej Pogačar made cycling history with an extraordinary 80-kilometre solo victory at the Strade Bianche. In stage four, we follow in his tracks, tracing the course of that legendary finale with iconic gravel sections such as Monte Sante Marie and Le Tolfe, names and images familiar from television. The stage finishes at the iconic Piazza del Campo in the heart of Siena.

STAGE 5: GAIOLE, RADDA AND CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI

In the final stage, we ride an iconic section of the l’Eroica route, but in reverse. From Siena, we head northeast towards Gaiole in Chianti, the birthplace of the famous retro cycling event l’Eroica. Every first weekend of October, Gaiole transforms into a pilgrimage site for vintage cycling enthusiasts from all over the world, creating an unforgettable cycling atmosphere. Thousands of riders in woollen jerseys, on steel racing bikes, set off on tours across the strade bianche. Cafés, wine bars and restaurants proudly display cycling photos and memorabilia on their walls. Further north lies the idyllic Radda in Chianti, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the Chianti region and surrounding vineyards. After one last loop through Tuscany’s rolling roads, we finish where our adventure began: the charming town of Castellina in Chianti. Arrivo!
